PROPOSED HOUSING PLANS FOR NORTH SOMERSET HAVE MAJOR IMPLICATIONS FOR THE PARISH OF BROCKLEY
Residents will no doubt be aware of our government’s drive to significantly increase housing provision throughout the country in an effort to address the severe housing crisis.
Unitary Authorities / District Councils are under a great deal of pressure to find sites to accommodate the huge numbers of additional homes required by the government.
North Somerset Council (NSC) has published the new North Somerset Local Plan 2041 which identifies where development can and cannot take place in North Somerset. It also guides investment for new housing, jobs, transport and community facilities over the next 15 years.
The pre-submission plan is the version that the council proposes to submit to the Secretary of State for independent examination. The Pre-submission Plan was agreed by the Cabinet on 15 October 2025.
This has also been published for consultation for which comments closed on 12 December 2025.
THE PARISH COUNCIL WILL CONTINUE TO UPDATE THIS PAGE AS AND WHEN NEW INFORMATION ARISES.
